History of Physics Day

USU Physics Day at Lagoon began in May 1990. It was an outgrowth of a summer workshop for high school and middle school teachers at USU run by USU's Gil Moore, JR Dennison, and Teresa Burns.

The project has grown each year and now annually serves more than 8,000 students from over one hundred fifty schools in four or more states. Over 130,000 students and more than 6,000 teachers have attended USU Physics Day at Lagoon since its inception in 1990. More than one million dollars in prizes have been awarded.
